The maiden edition of Children’s Day show tagged : “Kiddies Time Out”, with Nollywood celebrities, was organized by Alrosies Media and Partners in conjunction with Sekmarkt Superstores Abuja.
Nollywood artistes in attendance include; Shan George, Ejiro Okurame, Tony Akposheri, Vitalis Ndubuisi, Christy Okonkwo, Andy Ike, Lizzy Ogbodo, Joy Helen, Eric Obinna, Clems Onyeka, Anita Joseph, among others. Other guests include Kalu O. Kalu, Acho Ukaha among others.
The children displayed their talents in music, dance, spelling games , cultural displays. Guests artistes that entertained the children include Soaleze,Albert Kalu, Pickin (comedy).
Chief Executive Officer of Alrosies Media and Partners, Chinyere Nwabueze, said the show is an educational and interactive session for children to meet Nollywood celebrities.
Chinyere also launched her NGO, Alrosies Foundation, which aims to educate teenage girls against the dangers of early pregnancies.
She said: “There are vulnerable young ladies who are impregnated by some men and when they give birth, the children are taken from them and sold to people at exorbitant prices. This practice is bad and should be discouraged. The foundation will empower pregnant teenagers by teaching them a vocation and they will not succumb to sell their babies anymore.”
Arua Arunsi Arua, a representative from Arochukwu Ohafia constituency, said: “I believe in social re-engineering and issues affecting people should be addressed which Chinyere has done. She is giving back to the society as her own Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by encouraging children what they rightly deserve.
Greg Oputa said: “It takes somebody with passion for children to be involved in this and that is why she has organized this show. I will support and encourage this cause because the reason for existence is to help people succeed in life.
The Nollywood celebrities were later hosted to a karaoke party tagged: “A Salavee Show with Guinness at Salavee Open Lounge and Resort, Abuja.
