runner-up at the just-concluded First Daughter of Imo State Cultural Beauty
Pageant (Ada Imo) 2013, has revealed her plans to launch a non-governmental

The NGO, according to her, will
focus on educating youths on cultural values, teenage pregnancy and the
benefits of talent use. She said her pet project would also incorporate giving
out food items occasionally to widows.
Ogechi whose birthday was on June
25, applauded the state government for putting together such an elaborate
pageant and thanked Governor Rochas Okorocha for keeping to his words by giving
out star and consolation prizes to winners.
The “Ada Imo 2” (second daughter of
Imo State), as she is popularly called, also commended the doggedness of the
Ministry of Community Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, headed by Lady Ugochi
Nnanna-Okoro (Commissioner), that led to the assemblage of traditional rulers
in the state, but also over 1,000 beautiful young Imo girls and handsome young
men from the 655 autonomous communities.
She told Daily Sun that being the
‘Ada Imo’ First Runner-up (Ada Imo 2) has given her a platform to reach out to
lives in her little way through her projects. Ogechi remains grateful to God
for rewarding her with this position, noting that she will work with Ada Imo 1
and Ada Imo 3.
The elegant beauty queen represented
Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State after emerging as ‘Ada Ohaji/Egbema’ at the
preliminaries of the 2013 ‘Ada’ and ‘Opara Imo’ beauty pageant and is preparing
to embark on her first pet project which she said would be supported by her
local government.
Ogechi, who thrilled the audience
during the contest with a self-composed song on the glory of Imo, the home of
hospitality, was the Ex- Most Beautiful Girl (MBG) in Egbema Kingdom
2010, sponsored by MTN.
“Ada’ and ‘Opara Imo,’ is a cultural
beauty pageant organised by the state government through the Ministry of
Community Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. It is a two-pronged competition,
which involves ‘Ada’ Imo and ‘ Opara Imo’ (Imo daughter and Imo son).
