The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has bowed to pressure from northern governors on the composition of its committee on the mini convention as it named two Muslims as officers of the committee. Read more
Those named were the former Ambassador to the United States, Alhaji Aminu Wali and the former acting National Secretary of the party, Dr. Musa Babayo as deputy chairman and deputy secretary of the Special National Convention of the party headed by Prof. Jerry Gana respectively.
It was gathered that the committee has also named six members of members of the National Working Committee as members of the convention committee but their names were yet to be disclosed as at press time.
The northern governors had on Thursday protested the non inclusion of Muslims as members of the leadership of the committee.
