It was attended by celebrities, such as Ramsey Noah, Kunle
Afolayan, Ufuoma Ejenobor, Yvonne Ekwere and DJ Jimmy Jatt, who entertained
guests with music.
Laouchez also unveiled his new office in Lagos and was in the country for the
first time.
According to Sam, EMC is in the business of providing a
veritable platform for the creative industry and reach out to the international
community. The company has developed a strong relationship with those in the
Nigerian entertainment circle.
“Our platforms provide excellent opportunities for creative
minds to fully maximise the merchandise value of their creative works. TRACE
Urban, for instance, is the first international platform to feature Nigerian
music.” He said.
“We play Nigerian music across the globe and Nigerian
artistes, such as PSquare, Iyanya, Flavor and others, whose music are being
requested to be aired in the Caribbean because of the level of exposure TRACE
has given to them.
He said such international exposure had created a high
demand for Nigerian artistes abroad. Talented Nigerian artistes are making good
use of these opportunities. As Nigerian artistes gain increased recognition
across the world, there will be increase in foreign investment in them. He
noted that EMC will transform entertainment in Nigeria by making the industry a
major contributor to the economy.
He said: “Africans are very creative people. The rest of the world looks up to us to
bring freshness to the global entertainment scene. To do this successfully, we
need indigenous entertainment companies that are willing to introduce
international practices and exposure to the local industry; and that is what
EMC stands for.”
He noted that the development of the Nigerian entertainment
industry required efforts of artistes and directors, producers, choreographers
and others to make it a reality.
