Hakeem Bello celebrates Fashola with 3 books

Former Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Hakeem Bello, will celebrate the birthday of the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), Lagos, on Sunday, June 28, with three books: In Bold Print: Thoughts of Babatunde Raji Fashola, The Great Leap: Speeches by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and The Lagos Blow Down, co-authored with Dapo Adeniyi. more....

However, these three books will not be the last that readers will get from the former CPS, Bello. He is also planning to write a memoir of his years in Alausa. As part of his journalistic efforts, he has created what he calls From Fashola’s Newsroom, which he hopes to compile and publish very soon. Also, there’s a review of Every 100 Days of his principal’s activities in the offing.
According to Bello, “Fashola will be 52 years on Sunday, June 28, and these books will go a long way to explaining the man and his politics. Even at a limited level, it is expected that his fans await his biography or autobiography, and his next political move, which they hope will be outside the influence of Ahmed Tinubu, who, many felt, was overbearing all through Fashola’s two terms.”
Bello, who started journalism as an arts journalist with the old Daily Times,  said it was important to bring the books to the public domain for their awareness so they get to know the contents and “what actually went down”. The books are produced for people to see the far-reaching achievements of Fashola in eight years.”
Bold Print: Thoughts of Babatunde Raji Fashola examines topics like Leadership, Ethics, Sustainability, Politics, Africa, Leading lights, Governance, Democracy, Education, Globalisation, Social development, Megacity, Faith and Diversity.
Bello observes that Governor Fashola won the confidence of the people after assuming office, as well. “His focus was steady and his steps bold. In his two tenures, he has shown that he was a strong leader with a vision as he embarked on the challenging journey to transform Lagos State, with much success,” he said.
According to the duo, Hakeem Bello and Dapo Adeniyi, assembling the materials and taking giant steps to complete the book documenting The Lagos Blow Down was no easy task: “One of our objectives was to capture the moments, including the breathless minutes, leading to the eventual controlled demolition of the erstwhile Bank of Industry stalwart structure.”
The third book, The Great Leap: Speeches by Governor Babatunde Raji Fshola (SAN), examines topics like A Governor, His Story, Inauguration, Setting Agenda, Executing Programmes, Eyes to the Future, Women Gender, Lagos as a Mega City, Milestones, Cultural Festivals and View Point.
