Road crash: Enyimba, Lobi Stars sympathise with Pillars

Enyimba International FC have expressed their sympathies to Kano Pillars Football Club over the car crash which injured coaches of the team last week. Read more

Executive Chairman of Enyimba, Felix Anyansi Agwu in an interview with SportingLife said news of the accident shocked him but was relieved, it did not claim their lives.
“Enyimba and Kano Pillars share a great relationship and we are therefore distressed by any unfortunate event that befalls the club,” he said. “I was shocked when I was informed of the incident but I thank God none of the officials died.”
“The entire Enyimba join me in wishing the coaches a very speedy recovery. Baba Ganaru, Abdu Maikaba and Kabiru Baleria are all great individuals and we would like to see them pull through this as quickly as possible,” Anyansi added.
The accident, occurred last Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Dominic Mtem Iorfa has also expressed his regrets at the accident while they were on their way to Kano from Ilorin from a Federation Cup engagement.
Iorfa in a brief chat with SportingLife said he was happy they all survived.
He emphasised that all hands should be on deck to avert such in the future.
The former Super Eagles’ striker believed there was a need to review the mode of transportaion adopted by various clubs in the Nigerian league.
