In the affected area of  Jos North Local Government Area, some of the residents   were seen removing their property from  their submerged houses, while some road paths were still covered by the flood.
Most of the residents remained in their homes hoping that the flood will soon subside.
Confirming the incident, the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Alhasan Barde, said the level of the destruction had not been ascertained.
He said houses were destroyed in Jos North, Barkin Ladi, Kanam and Shendam local government areas and that they were still undertaking  on-the-spot  assessment  of the affected areas.
He advised residents of the state not to build their homes around waterways.
Many of the affected residents in Jos North, who were interviewed said they would prefer to either be resettled in highland or for the waterways to be expanded.
They said that they were wary of foodstuff or monitory assistance because they hardly got to those affected and called for permanent solution to their plight.
“Last year, we heard that the Federal Government gave N500million and also Dangote released  some money to the victims.
“Most of us got nothing and that is why we are still where the flood met us last year,” said one of the victims.
