According to investigations, the special panel set by the police to investigate the incident had indicted some former militants who benefitted from the amnesty programme of the Federal Government.
Further checks indicated that the arrest of a prime suspect, Fabouwei, by the Joint Task Force and subsequent interrogation by a crack team from the State Criminal Investigation Department after he was handed over to the police provided more facts about the killing.
Fabouwei a drop out from the Law Department of the Niger Delta State University had painted a graphic picture of how the killing was executed and those who participated in it.
He had also confessed to various crimes including the kidnapping of five Pakistanis from which he and other gang members collected N10 million as ransom.
He said it was one Virus who gave the order for the killing, after which he personally roasted the bodies of the policemen
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Alex Akhigbe, in a statement said those declared wanted were found culpable because they were involved in the killing of the policemen.
The PPRO said Virus was a commander in the Young Shall Grow camp before he fell out with the former militant leader over payment of allowances to the boys that embraced amnesty from their camp.
Those declared wanted, according to him, are Bakumo, Sunday, Samuel, Wikewei, Mathew, Famous and Ozinikiware.
